Debbie Duggan
Debbie has trained in Europe's most prestigious culinary schools, including the Cordon Bleu in Paris and London, La Varenne in Burgundy, France and Avignonesi Culinary Center and Tenuta de Capezzana in the Tuscany region of Italy, Emilia Romangna, and most recently Southern Italy.
Locally, Debbie has guest lectured at Cal Poly Food Science and Nutrition Department, teaching Customs and Cultures in Food, and taught "Catering and Special Events" at Allen Hancock Junior College. She created the Children's Summer Cooking Camps through the SLO Adult Education Program and continued the program at her own facility.
Debbie holds a Speech Communications degree from Cal Poly. She has also served as a culinary consultant to many businesses, restaurants and caterers. She has consulted for the Hearst Family as well as developed menus and trained the families personal chefs. She has also catered many family parties at the historical ranch.
She has also written for many local publications as well. Debbie also had a weekly television cooking show on local NBC affiliate, KSBY for 5 years. Most recently Debbie has had a 30 minute cooking show on the Drive TV station called "California Cuisine with Debbie Duggan.
Debbie also takes small groups of students and clients to Italy a few times a year to study Italian food, wine and culture. The trips always consist of "Hands On" cooking classes, unique visits to Artisan Italian chefs restaurants and kitchens, wineries, historical food venues as well as other cultural experiences. The trips are guided by Pamela Sheldon Johns who has a very famous, highly acclaimed cooking school/bed and breakfast in Tuscany. In fact, Pamela has authored many Italian Artisan best selling cookbooks. The trips are exclusive "back door" personally guided trips featuring experiences one would NEVER have if they were not guided by Pamela. Pamela's fame has brought her incredible connections in the Italian food world. Pamela and Debbie are now working on a new culinary trip/adventure to Southern Italy for 2010.
